My name is Katarina Elevant. I am a Teacher in Sweden and this blog aims at reflecting on learning, teaching, and communicating. Starting with my shared experiences, my reflections will be colored by some cultural perspectives as well. I am currently teaching courses in web development and programming (JavaScript, HTML) at the department of Informatics at Karlstad University. I have a Ph.D. in Media Technology from KTH Royal Institute of Technology. My background is within Meteorology and I still have a passion for weather, in fact my interests are all somehow related to weather: skiing, sailing, hiking, painting… Actually, my doctoral thesis was also all about the weather. In addition, I studied and theoretisized on collaborative production in networks, communication, sharing, motivations to participate and share information, and design of services and platforms that might encourage sharing of weather-related information. Also, I am interested in issues related to sustainable development. Prior to my research career I collected some interesting experiences in communicating working as a professional meteorologist, consultant, and manager. I am interested in design and application development which is reflected in my research and other development projects usually centered around a weather-related theme. It you ever want to know what the weather is going to be like, check the most recent forecast on ShareWeather.
